Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area due to snowfall beginning Thursday night.
Global News chief meteorologist Anthony Farnell said Toronto will likely receive between five to 10 centimetres of snow by Friday morning.
The hardest hit areas will be west of the city in Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions, as well as parts of southwestern Ontario. Those regions are expected to received between 15 to 30 centimetres of snow.

In Toronto, a rain and wet snow mix is expected to move into the GTA early this evening and then turn into snow.
Environment Canada said strong and gusty northerly winds may result in local blowing snow and poor visibility in some areas overnight.
The low pressure system will move away from the area Friday but will likely still result in a messy morning commute for motorists in the morning.
