The Stoney Creek Sabres Bantam BB hockey team recently donated $250 to the Stoney Creek Community Food Bank.
Players raised all of the money themselves by bagging groceries at Fortinos, including the Fiesta Mall location in November.
The team decided to donate to a local charity in order to give back to the community that has been so supportive of Stoney Creek girls hockey.
Funds were presented to Susan and Wilf Rogers of the Stoney Creek Community Food Bank.
The Bantam BB Sabres team includes Rebecca Mazzetti, Avery Perniac, Mya Greco, Meriah Fisher, Hannah Collens-Cook, Julia Northcott, Emily Trus, Breanna Rollo, Lauren Leavitt, Emma Bernoldi, Sadie Leroux, Joelle Periard, Aislynn McNaught, Olivia Amoroso, Savannah Singh and coaches Wade Perniac, Neil Leavitt, Todd Northcott, Rachel Amoroso and Lina Bernoldi.
